Course Outcomes


Understand the behavior and properties of plastic materials and use that knowledge to select appropriate materials for a given application or process (SME Pillar 1).


Understand the design of plastic products and the equipment, tooling, and environment necessary for their manufacture (SME Pillar 2).


Be able to apply knowledge of mathematics, statistics, science and engineering in plastics manufacturing (SME Pillar 1).


Be able to identify, formulate, and solve manufacturing-engineering problems related to plastics (SME Pillar 2).


Understand a variety of manufacturing processes for plastics and be able to select the appropriate process for a given task (SME Pillar 1).
