Course Outcomes

Overview of Peoples & Cultures of India

Students will be provided an overview of the peoples and cultures of South Asia with an emphasis on India; a region consisting of several hundred languages, multiple ethnicities, many religious traditions, and competing political orientations.

Readings and Films

Students will receive increased knowledge of the cultures of India through in-depth readings, lectures, discussions, and films.

Increased Critical Thinking and Writing Skills

Students will increase their capacity for critical thinking skills and writing within the discipline through discussions, exams, and a written research papers.
