Course Outcomes

Music Class Observation

Students will complete 12 observations of music classes being taught by different local music teachers as an opportunity for exposure, reflection and gathering materials for future reference.

Mentored Teaching Experiences

Each student will complete at least two mentored formal teaching experiences involving junior high music students, with opportunity for reflection and feedback.

Teacher Work Sample Preparation

Students will complete an individual Teacher Work Sample to demonstrate their ability to understand a teaching situation, and how to plan, implement and reflect on teaching a series of lessons.

Diversity in Class Activities

Students will interact with musics of diverse cultures, styles and contexts in class activities.
