Form and Analysis

This course teaches the formal techniques of western music primarily from the 17th through 21st centuries.

The specific repertoire and analytical methods you will be expected to master, or the knowledge (theoretical, historical, practical) you will be expected to acquire in any given section of this course may vary from professor to professor. That reflects the nature of a university and the privilege of academic freedom, which despite arbitrary (and actuarial) attempts to curb it, must prevail.
