508 Orchestral Literature 1

The purpose of this course is to study the standard orchestral literature through the eyes of a conductor. Upon completion of the course, students will be familiar with the most important literature of the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods up to through the works of Brahms. They will be able to identify the most important composers, their works, and the most significant passages with regards to challenges for the conductor.
