Course Outcomes

Writing and Rhetoric

Write clearly on a well-defined topic using correct grammar and conventions appropriate to philosophy, and employing a voice, tone, and diction suited to one's intended audience.

Basic Writing

Cultivate basic reading and writing skills including summarizing, paraphrasing, prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and proofreading

Basic Research

Use appropriate research tools including library and internet resources, and apply them to the writing of a cogent philosophical essay

Critical Reasoning

Learn basic logic skills used in critical reasoning and be able to identify invalid, unsound, and fallacious arguments
