Program Requirements

This minor is designed to prepare students to teach in public schools. A teaching minor may only be received by students graduating with a teaching major. In order to graduate with this minor, students are required to complete Utah State Office of Education licensing requirements. For students accepted into the minor after August 1, 2014, grades below C in any required coursework in a teaching major or teaching minor will not be accepted. Teacher candidates must maintain a total GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the program and to qualify for student teaching. Program Outcomes

Computational Practice:

Students are versed in the fundamentals of computer practice at a level sufficient for high school teaching, including the basics of programming, data structures, and algorithms.

Computational Theory:

Students have a fundamental theoretical computer science background sufficient for high school teaching.
