Course Outcomes - Level 2
- Students will prepare to teach communication technology - specifically graphic design in print and web formats. To accomplish this students will first learn the primary and fundamental theories of design, and develop associated skills and understanding by completing a variety of projects, including but not limited to: user experience designs for a variety of web applications, print designs in the form of advertisements and identity design. Second, students will design instructional ideas for use in both industry and educational settings (i.e., lesson and unit plans), which they will have evaluated by peers, instructor, and through application (i.e., they will teach their lesson plan(s) in an educational setting).
- Students will be introduced to the visual communication profession and associated professional literature. Field trips, readings, and client work will be the primary methods of meeting these criteria.
- Students will gain competency in applying the design principles in both print and web mediums. As note above the course assignments will provide the means for accomplishing this outcome. In addition, peer evaluations, and student presentations will help accomplish this outcome.
