Course Outcomes
Archaeology of the Native Cultures of North America and Nort
Students will gain an introductory level comprehension of the diverse cultural developments of North American indigenous peoples as well as selected examples from Canada and Northern Mexico through the study of archaeological evidence and material culture.
Hands-On Exposure to Native American Material Culture
Students will gain a more in-depth comprehension of the diversity and complexity of data sets regarding archaeological evidence via material cultural remains by hands-on interactions with the collections of the Museum of Peoples and Cultures at BYU.
Critical Thinking, Research, Analysis, and Writing
Through course assignments, students will increase their skills in critical thinking, research, analysis, and writing. Emphasis will be placed on writing in the discipline.
