Course Outcomes

Performance

Students will prepare four songs and perform memorized a minimum of three times throughout the semester.

Vocal Technique

Students will learn to understand the structure and function of the vocal instrument through:

  • flexibly aligned posture;
  • low, flexible breath management;
  • consistent, projected flow phonation;
  • freedom of vocal mechanism, including mouth and jaw;
  • emerging resonance;
  • emerging musicianship -- including dynamics, legato, accuracy;
  • text and diction.
