Read critically and analyze selected classical texts in translation in the context of English literature.

Produce polished, competent, formal writing, free from distracting errors in mechanics, syntax, and formatting, and in accordance with MLA formatting and citation guidelines.

Literary History

Successful students will demonstrate, through exams and essays, an incipient understanding of some of the ways that classical literature and culture has shaped, and continues to shape, the development of English literature.
