Recognition of Masterpieces
Recognize key architectural, artistic, and musical masterpieces from India, China, and Japan based on a study of the Blackboard examples and class participation.
Familiarity with Major Literary Works
Become familiar with some of the major literary works from India, China, and Japan by completing the reading assignments and attending class lectures and discussions.
Understanding Another Culture
Demonstrate basic understanding of at least one culture in addition to North American and European cultures.
Differences in Traditions
Understand some of the basic similarities and differences between LDS beliefs and Hindu, Buddhist, Confucian, Daoist, and Shinto traditions as they are manifested in the humanities studied during the semester.
