Course Outcomes

Working in Small Groups

Students demonstrate ability to work in small groups and to accept and implement mentor feedback by producing as a group, and under direction of a faculty mentor, a publication project effectively edited and competently designed.

Editing Skills

Students demonstrate improvement in basic editing skills acquired in previous courses: copyediting, substantive editing in a genre, and use of electronic tools for editing and layout.

Basic Understanding of Publication Industry

Students demonstrate a basic understanding of the publishing industry and the requirements of an effective job search by creating a job application and an editing skills portfolio.
