Authors

Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge about one or more authors from the 16th and/or 17th centuries.

Historical and Literary Context

Students will be able to analyze the texts studied in terms of the historical, cultural, and literary context of the Early Modern world.

Genre

Students will be able to describe, analyze and discuss one or more of the genres of Early Modern Spanish literature and the conventions connected with the genre(s).

Research and Writing

Students will strengthen their research and writing skills by producing essays about, editions of, and/or translations of 16th and 17th-century Spanish texts.

Life-long reading

Students will develop the skills necessary to appreciate and enjoy reading Early Modern Spanish texts.
