Knowledge and Analytic Understanding
Students will gain an in-depth understanding of an issue central to European Studies and be able to articulate that understanding using theories, concepts, research materials, and ideas from the perspectives of more than one European-Studies-related discipline.
research and writing
Students will identify a valid research topic and research that topic using appropriate disciplinary methods, and they will write a cogent, scholarly essay in which they report the results of their research.
targeted understanding
Students will understand the relationship of the course's central issue to their country or countries of interest.
