Course Outcomes

Outcome 1: Overall Objective

To provide practical experience in developing computational approaches to address biological problems.

Outcome 2: General Computational Problems in Biology and Common Approaches

Describe general areas of computational problems in biology (e.g. next-generation sequencing, tree searches, genome assembly, motif discovery) and learn about existing algorithmic approaches to these general problems.

Outcome 3: Research and Scientific Communication

Develop a complete bioinformatics algorithm and prepare written and oral reports describing the algorithm.
