Bacterial Genetics

Bacteria are remarkable in their ecological versatility, metabolic power, pathogenic properties, and biotechnological potential. In this course you will come to a deeper understanding of how DNA orchestrates bacterial traits, and you will learn, by direct experience, how to use the “toolkit” of the bacterial geneticist. Your learning outcomes in this course will include the design and execution of experiments, analysis and critique of scientific literature, and both written and oral communication of scientific principles. You will also have opportunities to reflect upon how your faith in God is bolstered by your intellectual pursuits in the life sciences.
