Overview
Students will learn the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with emphasis on exodus from Nauvoo, the experience of Mormons crossing the Great Plains, establishing Zion in the Great Basin, plural marriage, persecution, the Manifesto, and events leading to Utah statehood
Events and Movements
Students will demonstrably remember and analyze events and movements of LDS history between 1845-1900 in the United States and increasingly international contexts
Participants
Students will demonstrably remember participants in relevant LDS history and analyze their contributions
Geography
Students will demonstrably remember the geography of relevant LDS history
Historical Record
Students will gain experience with the historical record of relevant LDS history
Relationships to other Historical Contexts
Students will relate relevant LDS history to larger historical contexts and patterns
Causes and Effects
Students will examine and explain change over time and causes and effects as they relate to relevant LDS history
